Consultation on Primary Healthcare Models and Policy Influence
The Consultation on primary healthcare models and policy influence was convened by PHI on 3rd Feb 2020 at IIM Udaipur campus and sought to bring together a mix of researchers, academicians, public health experts, and policy experts to deliberate on various models of primary healthcare. The focus was on models that can provide a high-quality comprehensive primary healthcare service that supplements the public healthcare provisioning. Another key focus was to generate ideas for research in the primary healthcare.
The deliberations included primary healthcare models that can (1) understand households’ capacities to mobilize resources to pay for healthcare and the factors affecting demand for services (2) understand current challenges in providing healthcare in rural areas (3) explore ways of sustainable financing for primary healthcare provisioning (4) explore solutions to motivate human resources, improve efficiency in the delivery of preventive, promotive, and curative care, and leverage appropriate technology for improved quality care.
